The Somerset Hills YMCA will help the Big Apple Circus “Celebrate!”
their 30th Anniversary! Y Night at the Big Apple Circus, will be held
Saturday, March 1st at 4:30pm at the Commerce Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater,
NJ. All proceeds benefit the Strong Kids Campaign, the YMCA financial

The Community Outreach Committee of the Somerset Hills YMCA will host
the 2nd Annual Job/Career Fair for juniors and seniors from Ridge and
Bernards high schools on February 5th from 6:15pm to 9pm at the Basking
Ridge Country Club. Keynote speaker will be astronaut Dr. Greg Olsen,
who will share his experiences in the International Space Station and
answer student questions. This is a great chance for students to find
jobs, learn more about career paths, and share their resumes as they prepare
for their future careers. Over 50 businesses and nonprofits will be participating.

The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges welcomes all people to an environment

It is the largest Y in New Jersey, serving over 97,000 members and participants
annually. Its five branch facilities are located in East Orange, Hardyston,
Livingston, Maplewood and Stillwater.
Fairview Lake YMCA Camps & Conference Center, offers traditional sleepaway
camp, an exciting range of specialty camps, a conference center and a
hands-on environmental education center. Fairview Lake YMCA is nestled
at the base of the Kittatinny Mountains in Stillwater, New Jersey. This
beautiful 600-acre site remains a virtually unspoiled natural wonderland
that adjoins the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
East Orange YMCA offers childcare, a pool, teen center, gymnasium, adult
fitness programs and a computer training center. The branch’s main
program focus is childcare, including day care, after school care and
summer day camps. All of their preschool programs are accredited by the
National Association for the Education of Young Children(NAEYC), recognized
as the standard for best practices in the field of childcare.
South Mountain YMCA spans an entire town block and includes a childcare
center, program center and gymnasium. Programs are diverse and numerous
in the following areas: childcare, before and after school care, youth
and adult sports and fitness, teens and youth leadership. During the summer
exciting day camps are available for children age 3 through 10th grade.
Sussex county YMCA, a 32,500-square-foot facility in Hardyston Township,
delivers a multitude of programs and facilities including a six-lane,
25-yard indoor pool, a large state-of-the-art wellness center, sauna,
steam room and whirlpool, a fitness trail for outdoor recreation, and
a Wellness Coaching Program specifically designed for novice exercisers.
West Essex YMCA, located in the heart of Livingston, has been a hub of
its community since its founding in 1954. Programs and equipment for personal
wellness, comprehensive and innovative childcare and summer day camps
are provided for children 6 weeks old through sixth grade. Their Peanut
Shell and Weekday Child Care Centers offer both full- and half-day childcare
programs and the Peanut Shell center is fully accredited by the NAEYC.
The Metuchen Branch YMCA is offering free one-year Strong Teen Initiative
full-privilege memberships to all 13-year-olds residing in Metuchen and
South Edison. The Strong Teen Initiative will help young teens strengthen
behaviors of staying fit, better understanding of nutrition and the importance
of continuing these habits into their adult lives.
The Metuchen Branch YMCA has a new Wellness Center located at the Metuchen
High School. The Wellness Center is a collaborative initiative with the
Metuchen Board of Education. The facility will be used by the high school
students and faculty during the day and afternoon hours. YMCA members
will have access to the facility during the evening hours and on Sundays.
At the Summit Area YMCA children ages three through 17 enjoy a variety
of programs including traditional day camps, sports camp, teen leadership
and specialty camps. New this year, camps run for 2-week sessions from
June 23 to August 22. Summit Y Day Camp registration will begin on February

The Springfield YMCA offers one-week session camps for Teeny Tiny Trekkers
and Tiny Trekkers for age 2 through kindergarten and Camp Anupama for
grades one–five. Registration begins February 24 at the Springfield

The Berkeley Heights YMCA offers Kamper Kids in one-week sessions for
ages 5–10 years. Extended care is available for before and after
camp hours. Financial assistance for camp is also available through the
Y Cares Financial Assistance Program, for qualified applicants. Registration

build mind, body and spirit. The YMCA provides a diverse range of quality,
affordable programs that help children thrive and grow, inspire young

child care, after-school enrichment, youth leadership and development,

Madison Area youngsters can enjoy the freedom of being outdoors, learning
new skills and making new friends each summer with a full range of camp
programs. Camps combine learning and fun for youngsters starting at age
3. School-age day camp offers new adventures and a wide range of activities
including hiking and exploring, arts & crafts, swimming, camp songs,
group games, and more. Preteen and teen campers have their own adventures
in specific weekly themes designed especially to meet any interests.
Hoboken-North Hudson YMCA provides a full facility with a pool, two gyms
and over 38 classes per week. An upgrade to the building is planned which
will include modern locker rooms, an elevator and new stairwells for easier
access, plus air-conditioning throughout the entire facility. Membership
rates will be frozen until 2010 to those who become a member and stay

The Community YMCA’s Family Health & Fitness Center in Red Bank
is expanding their programs for youth and teens with new X-er Gaming technology,
which combines video games and exercise, in their Teen Center. They also
